Every High School Football State Champion for the 2022 Season

NFL Play Football celebrates the 2022 high school football season with a list of every state champion in America.

Alcoa High School in Tennessee extended the longest active state championship streak in the nation. Alcoa won its eighth straight 3A state championship with a 45-26 win over East Nashville, bringing the school's total to 21 overall. The Tornadoes also won seven straight titles from 2004 to 2010.

Alcoa finished 2022 ranked No. 95 in the High School Football America national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

The next longest streak belongs to Virginia’s Riverheads High. The Gladiators won their seventh straight 1A title with a 49-27 win over George Wythe. Next year, Riverheads will move up to Virginia’s 2A classification.

Southern Columbia set a new Pennsylvania state record with their sixth straight state title. The Tigers won 37-22 win over Westinghouse to earn the school's 13th title, the most in Pennsylvania high school football history.

South Dakota’s Pierre T.F. Riggs also won their sixth straight title with a 35-20 win over Tea Area. So did South Carolina’s Hammond School, who beat Laurence Manning Academy 52-0 for the first-ever AAAA title in the South Carolina Independent School Association. Hammond now owns 20 overall high school football state championships.

Two schools won their fifth straight state championship in 2022. Bryant (Arkansas) extended its state championship streak in Class 7A with a 36-7 win over Bentonville. The Hornets finished 2022 ranked No. 50 in the HSFA rankings. Bixby (Oklahoma), ranked No. 79, saw its 58-game win streak come to an end in 2022, but finished strong to capture their first Class 6A Division I title after four straight Class 6A Division II titles.

The all-time record of 14 consecutive high school state championships is owned by St. Louis in Hawaii (1986 to 1999). Sioux Falls Washington High School is also credited with 14 straight South Dakota state championships between 1951 and 1964, although those titles were conferred by a media poll or another source.
