Podcast: Chicago Bears High School Coach of the Year Ken Leonard
Legendary Illinois high school football coach Ken Leonard ended his coaching career with a bang this fall.
Leonard, the state's all-time winningest coach, led Sacred Heart-Griffin to the Class 4A state title in November — the 419th and final win.
During his career, Leonard lead SHG to six state titles.
And as a result of an outstanding final season, Leonard was recognized with the Chicago Bears 2022 Coach of the Year Award. Bears head coach Matt Eberflus surprised Coach Leonard with the news of the award during a virtual video call with him.
Below, High School Football America's Jeff Fisher talks with Leonard about his journey from coaching at the smallest school in the state to his fantastic finish at Sacred Heart-Griffin.
