Rewind Wednesday: Mike Singletary

Every Wednesday, High School Football America’s Jeff Fisher will dive into his well-stocked treasure chest of interviews to talk with NFL players who love to talk about their love of high school football.

This week’s Rewind Wednesday takes you back to Jeff’s interview with NFL Legend Mike Singletary, who had just started as the head high school football coach at Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, Texas.

Singletary is Pro and College Football Hall of Fame linebacker who was named to the Pro Bowl ten times in his 12-year career with the Chicago Bears. After a career highlighted by a Super Bowl win with the legendary 1985 Bears, Singletary went into coaching, eventually attaining the head coaching position for the San Francisco 49ers in 2008.

Singletary talked with Jeff about leaving the NFL to pursue his dream of coaching high school football in his home state of Texas. Singletary served as TCA’s head coach during the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
