2026 Preseason HSFA Louisiana Top 10
Edna Karr will go for a three-peat in 2026. The Cougars, winners of back-to-back Division I Select state titles, start the season ranked No. 1 in the Preseason High School Football America Louisiana Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football. They enter the season riding a 28-game win streak and ranked No. 24 in the HSFA 300 national rankings.
No. 2 John Curtis, No. 3 Catholic (Baton Rouge) and No. 5 Alexandria all open the season against tough out-of-state opponents.
John Curtis opens against reigning Texas Class 6A Division I champion North Shore, ranked No. 15 in the HSFA 300. The Patriots are ranked No. 90 nationally.
Catholic will host No. 4 Carrollton from Georgia. The Bears are ranked No. 109 in HSFA's national rankings created with their proprietary algorithm.
Alexandria will host Arkansas powerhouse Bryant, winners of seven Class 7A state titles in the last eight years. Bryant was upset 43-42 in its opener against Benton in the Salt Bowl, which has been known to draw 20,000 to 30,000 fans.
