2026 Preseason HSFA Texas Top 25 High School Football Rankings
North Shore heads into 2026 as No. 1 in the High School Football America Texas Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
The Mustangs, winners of five state championships since 2015, are part of ultra-tough District 17-6A, which places a total of four teams in our statewide rankings, created with HSFA’s proprietary algorithm. Joining North Shore in the Top 25 from the district are No. 7 C.E. King, No. 13 Summer Creek and No. 24 Atascocita.
In addition to its tough district schedule, North Shore, ranked No. 13 in the HSFA 300 national rankings, will also face Louisiana power John Curtis and reigning 5A Division II champ South Oak Cliff, which opens at No. 3 in the Lone Star State’s statewide rankings.
No. 2 Duncanville finds itself without No. 4 DeSoto in the same district after the Eagles dropped down to Class 5A under the most recent realignment in February. The Panthers, ranked No. 15 nationally, are in District 11-6A along with No. 12 Waxahachie and No. 15 North Crowley, winner of the 2024 Class 6A Division I state title.
Rounding out the Top 5 is Allen, winner of three straight HSFA national titles from 2012 through 2014, when current Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was the Eagles’ offensive triggerman.
