Buford Leads Loaded 2026 Preseason HSFA Georgia Top 25
Georgia once again enters the upcoming high school football season as one of the nation’s deepest and most talented states, and the 2026 High School Football America Georgia Top 25, powered by NFL Play Football, reflects that depth from top to bottom.
At the top is Buford, which is coming off a perfect 15-0 campaign last season. The 2025 Class 6A champ is also expected to challenge for the HSFA national championship. The Wolves are ranked No. 5 nationally in the HSFA 100 preseason rankings after finishing No. 4 in the nation last year.
The top four teams in HSFA’s statewide rankings, created with its proprietary algorithm, all begin the season inside the national Top 25.
Georgia No. 2 Carrollton is ranked No. 8 in the HSFA 100, while No. 3 Grayson is ranked No. 14 in the nation. Last year’s Class 4A champ, Creekside, comes in at No. 4 in the state and No. 24 nationally.
Rounding out the Top 5 is 2025 Class 5A champ Thomas County Central. The Yellow Jackets check in at No. 44 in the country.
Gainesville sits at No. 6 after reaching the Class 5A championship game last season, followed by No. 7 Langston Hughes, No. 8 Douglas County, No. 9 Milton and No. 10 Roswell.
