Dominance on Display: Longest Active 11-man Win Streaks in High School Football Entering 2026

High school football seasons are short and unforgiving, with new rosters every fall due to graduations, transfers and injuries. Yet a handful of programs have built runs of excellence that span multiple years. As the 2026 campaign approaches, below are the longest active 11-man win streaks in the nation.

Long Island, New York’s Garden City owns the longest active streak at 66 straight wins. Led by 2025 NFC Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Dave Ettinger, the Trojans have been virtually unbeatable. In his 11 years as the program’s head coach, Ettinger has led Garden City to a 121-3 record. Last year, the Trojans won their fifth straight Long Island high school football championship.

Coming in behind Garden City is Sheridan High in Wyoming. The Broncs have won 55 straight while capturing five consecutive Class 4A state championships.

Third on the list is Oklahoma’s Carl Albert. The Titans’ streak sits at 53 straight wins, and they have won four straight state titles during the run.

Washington state’s Royal High School enters 2026 with 48 straight wins and six straight titles. The Knights have won eight state championships in the last nine years.

Fifth on the current active list is Minneota with 46 straight wins and four consecutive state crowns.

All of the streaks are still years away from challenging the all-time record of 151 straight wins held by De La Salle (California). DLS set the record between 1992 and 2004.
