Kate Meier Makes it Two for Two as USA TODAY Names Week 3 Top IX

For the second straight week, JSerra Catholic sophomore Kate Meier is among the nine best performers in high school girls flag football.

USA TODAY Sports and Studio IX named their Week 3 Top IX this week. The list recognizes the best single-game performances by players on teams in the Super 25 rankings. Meier is the only repeat from the debut list. She's joined by a freshman quarterback from Alabama, a sophomore who played both quarterback and receiver in the same game, and a Dos Pueblos defender who holds her school's career interception record.

Here are the Week 3 honorees, listed alphabetically:

Alana Anderegg, No. 10 Vestavia Hills (Ala.)
The freshman threw for 245 yards and five touchdowns in a 38-0 win over Westminster Christian.

Leni Greenberg, No. 15 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.)
The sophomore split time at quarterback with Makena Cook in a shutout of Immaculate Heart, throwing for 114 yards and two touchdowns. She also caught three touchdown passes.

Scarlett Guyser, No. 3 Newport Harbor (Newport Beach, Calif.)
The junior went 12-for-15 for 134 yards and four touchdowns in a blowout of Los Alamitos. She added 59 rushing yards as the Sailors moved into the top three for the first time.

Ava Harrison, No. 5 Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.)
The junior caught 12 passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns against Beaumont. Earlier in the week, she had 11 catches for 125 yards and two scores in a win over Mater Dei.

Brooklyn Hedricks, No. 20 Dos Pueblos (Goleta, Calif.)
Hedricks had five flag pulls and three interceptions in a shutout of Pacifica. That added to her total as the school's career interceptions leader.
