Plainfield wins New York Jets’ Seventh Annual Nike 11-ON Tournament

Sixteen high school football programs from New Jersey, New York and Connecticut battled at the New York Jets’ seventh annual Nike 11-ON Tournament, fueled by Gatorade. The event was held at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center.

The Plainfield Cardinals from New Jersey captured the 7-on-7 championship by going 5-0-1 over the two-day competition. The Cardinals went 3-0 in pool play before beating Staten Island’s Curtis High School 32-8 in the championship game.

With the victory, Plainfield will be honored on the field during a Jets preseason game at MetLife Stadium in August.

The annual tournament continues to serve as a premier summer platform for top high school football programs in the tri-state area, offering athletes the opportunity to compete, develop their skills and gain exposure ahead of the fall season. All participating teams were invited free of charge, and all athletes received a pair of Jets-branded shorts.

“The Nike 11-ON Tournament is one of our favorite events of the year because it brings together some of the top high school talent in the tri-state area and gives them the opportunity to compete in a first-class environment,” said Elijah Hodges, New York Jets Community Relations and Youth Football Director. “We are proud to provide this platform for student-athletes to sharpen their skills, build camaraderie and experience the game at a high level. Seeing these teams compete and represent their schools with pride is what it’s all about.”
