37 States Represented in 2022 NFL Draft

Former Texas high school football players heard their names called early and often in Las Vegas.

Thirty-two prospects from the Lone Star State were drafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, most of any state.

Thirty players from Georgia high schools were drafted, followed by California (22) and Florida (21).

Overall, 37 states were represented in the draft, along with two players from Austria and Canada.

Georgia's Cedar Grove High School had a great weekend with three former players selected. With the 73rd pick, the Indianapolis Colts selected former Cedar Grove Saints tight end Jelani Woods. The Atlanta Falcons picked two former Saints — linebacker DeAngelo Malone with the 82nd pick and guard Justin Shaffer at No. 190.

Three other Georgia teams — Archer, Cherokee, and Marist — also had two players selected.

Ten other schools had two players chosen: Archbishop Murphy (Washington), IMG Academy (Florida), Klein Collins (Texas), Long Beach Poly (California, Neville (Louisiana), Plant (Florida), Riverdale Baptist (Maryland), Saraland (Alabama) and University Lab (Baton Rouge, Louisiana).
