High School Football America Preseason Small Schools Top 25
Florida's Chaminade-Madonna will start 2022 at the top of the High School Football America Small Schools Top 25, powered by NFL Play Football.
The Lions, winners of four state titles in the last five years, play a big-time schedule. In 2021, they beat seven teams ranked in the HSFA 200 national rankings, including two state champs from other states — Georgia 7A champ Buford and Arizona 6A champ Highland.

Last year, Chaminade-Madonna won the HSFA Small Schools National Championship as determined by HSFA's proprietary algorithm.
Chaminade-Madonna is one of four Florida small school teams in the Preseason Top 25. Right behind the 3A champs is defending 2A champ Trinity Christian Academy of Jacksonville at No. 2. Champagnat Catholic checks-in at No. 7, and defending 1A champ Madison County opens the year at No. 17.
Pennsylvania is tied with Florida for the most teams in the Small Schools Preseason Top 25.
Defending Pennsylvania 4A champ Aliquippa, known for producing Pro Football Hall of Famers Mike Ditka and Ty Law, check in at No. 5. Aliquippa alum Darrelle Revis will be eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2023.
Two-time Pennsylvania 3A champions Central Valley will start the season ranked No. 9, and Wyomissing is ranked No. 12. Five-time defending Pennsylvania state champ Southern Columbia starts 2022 at No. 15. The Tigers won three straight HSFA Small Schools national titles from 2019 to 2021.
Six-time defending Tennessee state champ Alcoa is ranked No. 3 in the Preseason Top 25, and two-time defending Texas state champ Shiner is ranked No. 4.
In all, fourteen states are represented in the preseason rankings.
