Interview: Joshua Saunders Talks About Robinson High Winning 8 Straight Florida Girls’ Flag Football State Championships

Robinson’s eighth straight Florida girls’ flag high school football championship is a special one. A week ago, the Knights extended their championship streak inside an NFL training facility.

For the first time ever, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosted the 2024 Florida High School Athletic Association‘s state championships at the National Football League team’s AdventHealth Training Center. That gave Robinson, located just south of Tampa, a great home field advantage.

Robinson won the 1A championship with a 27-6 defeat of Pembroke Pines Charter. The win capped a perfect 24-0 season and gave the school nine overall girls’ flag state championships.

Below, High School Football America’s Jeff Fisher talks with Robinson head coach Joshua Saunders about his program’s historic run and his excitement about the growth of the sport with a huge boost from the NFL.
