Jaguars Linebacker Travon Walker's High School Number Retired
No Upson-Lee High School football player will ever wear No. 44 ever again.
Last week, the Thomaston, Georgia school honored Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Travon Walker by retiring his number.
Walker, the No. 1 overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, was a standout football and basketball player at U-L.

On the gridiron, Walker played both sides of the ball. He played multiple positions on defense and lined up at tight end and running back on offense.
He was also very good on the basketball court. A four-year starter on the hardwood, Walker averaged a double-double for his career with 11.7 points a game and 10.8 rebounds. During his time on the court, Walker led Upson-Lee to two state championships, plus a 75-game win streak.
Walker was a 5-star football recruit in the Class of 2019 and committed to the University of Georgia. He was a key contributor to the Bulldogs' 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship.
Recently, Walker spoke with High School Football America's Jeff Fisher about his memories at Upson-Lee.
