Podcast: Rodney Saulsberry Talks About Upcoming Tampa Bay Buccaneers National Coaching Academy
Whitehaven High School (Memphis, Tennessee) head coach Rodney Saulsberry is one of 25 coaches who will take part in the inaugural Tampa Bay Buccaneers National Coaching Academy in May. The program is designed to provide an opportunity for coaches seeking their initial entry into the National Football League.
Saulsberry was chosen from over 1,500 applicants from the United States, Germany, Denmark, and Brazil. Six of the finalists are currently coaching at the high school level.
The other high school coaches are:
- Candice Davis-Price, Performance Coach - Belleville HS (Michigan)
- Nathan Griffin, Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Line Coach - Vandegrift HS (Texas)
- Tavon Mason, Sr., Assistant Coach - Westside Macon HS (Georgia)
- Steven Steele, Head Coach - Pierre T.F. Riggs HS (South Dakota)
- Sean Thom, Head Coach - Lassiter HS (Georgia)
The inaugural class, which will participate in the Academy from May 6-12, represents a diverse group of individuals, including five women and two international participants. Aside from the six high school coaches, 15 finalists currently occupy roles in the college ranks and three hold coaching positions abroad.
