The NFL Legends Youth Advisory Committee supports the development of youth and high school football initiatives. These Legends share their experiences and insights to help grow the game, stressing character, values, fundamentals, player protection and coaching.
A native of Knoxville, Tennessee and 1995 Webb School of Knoxville graduate, Chad Pennington attended Marshall University where he played quarterback for the Thundering Herd from 1995-1999. While at Marshall, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, was a Rhodes Scholar finalist, as well as a Heisman Trophy finalist. Chad was also a GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-America first-team pick and a recipient of the National Football Foundation’s William V Campbell Trophy considered by many as the “Academic Heisman.” Chad was chosen by the New York Jets in the first round of the 2000 draft. He was the 18th overall pick and the first quarterback chosen that year. During his 11-year career, Chad led both the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins to AFC East Division titles and led his teams to four playoff appearances. In 2008, he was named the AP NFL Comeback Player of the Year for the second time becoming the only player since the awards inception to do so. Currently, Chad serves as the Director of Football at Sayre School in Lexington, KY.
Michael Robinson played for the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks during his eight-year NFL career. He was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection at Penn State and was a member of the Super Bowl XLVIII-winning Seattle Seahawks. Robinson founded the charity Excel to Excellence and currently works as an analyst for NFL Network.
Bobby is a former All-Pro Pro-Bowl cornerback who played 10 years in the NFL. A second-round draft pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1995. During his professional career he started 109 out of his 129 NFL games played. An Ed Block Courage award recipient in 1998 voted for by his teammates as a role model of inspiration, sportsmanship, and courage. He played college football at the University of Notre Dame under legendary coach Lou Holtz where he was a 2x 1st team All-American cornerback and Jim Thorpe award finalist for the nations top defensive back. Bobby grew up in Longview, TX where he graduated from Longview High School in 1992. In 2012 he was inducted into the Texas Football Hall of Fame. Along with serving as Co-Chair of the NFL Legends Youth Advisory Committee, Bobby is a strategic advisor for the Football Operations Department and NFL FLAG league operator in Katy, and East Texas.
Two-time Super Bowl champion Torrey Smith played eight seasons at wide receiver in the NFL. He was a three-time nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, the NFL’s most prestigious honor. Smith and his wife Chanel founded the LEVEL82 nonprofit, which provides academic support, athletic and enrichment activities, mental health resources, and social services to Baltimore County families. Smith coaches young players through the LEVEL82 Student Athlete Academy, youth 7-on-7 football, and as the Under Armour All America Game WRs coach.
LeCharles Bentley played for the New Orleans Saints and the Cleveland Browns during his 6-year NFL career. Bentley is a 2x Pro Bowler and was named to the All-Rookie Team in 2002. He attended Ohio State University, where he was an All-American and named Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year. Bentley currently runs L.Bentley O-line Performance (OLP).
Donald Jones played wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots during his 4-year NFL career. He majored in broadcasting in college and was a co-host of a daily talk show sponsored by the Buffalo Bills. Donald has been coaching youth and high school football for 8 years. He currently coaches at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in New Jersey and trains wide receivers in the tri state area.
Bilal Powell was drafted by the New York Jets in 2011 and spent his entire nine-year career there. He set two franchise records and is the 8th leading rusher in New York Jets history. Bilal finished his college career at the University of Louisville where he was named to the All-Big East Conference and Phil Steele All-American fourth team after rushing for 1,405 yards and 10 touchdowns in 11 games for the Cardinals. His 1,405 single season rushing yards set a new school record for second all time. He was the head coach for the sixth grade Football University Kentucky Team in 2023 and took them to nationals in Naples, Florida where they went 4-1 and came in fifth in the nation. Bilal is currently coaching at Saint Xavier High School in Louisville, Kentucky where he coaches running backs and helps coordinate the offense.
Tarik Glenn was drafted in the first round of the 1997 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. He played offensive tackle for the Colts the entirety of his 10-year NFL career. Tarik is a Super Bowl XLI champion and a member of the Colts Ring of Honor. The 2024 season will be Tarik’s third year as the offensive line coach at Bishop O’Dowd HS in Oakland, CA.
London Fletcher played for the St. Louis Rams, the Buffalo Bills, and the Washington franchise during his 16-year NFL career. London is a 4x Pro Bowler and 2x Second team All-Pro. He is also a Super Bowl XXXIV champion, a Bart Starr Award winner, and is in the Washington Commanders Ring of Honor. London played in 256 consecutive games which included making 215 straight starts (NFL record for linebacker). He currently works as the color analyst for the Washington Commanders radio broadcast team. London also coaches for the Carolina Stars 7v7 organization.
