NFL Legend Dan Jiggetts, who played for the Westhampton Beach High School Hurricanes, is remembered fondly in the community. After graduating high school in 1972, Jiggetts went-on to Harvard University, where he became the Crimson’s first-ever African-America captain, and then to the Chicago Bears.

During COVID-19 shutdowns, coaches did many different things to keep their student-athletes and community connected to the game. Westhampton Beach High School head coach Bryan Schaumloffel reached back into the 100-year history of football at the high school to keep everyone anticipating a return to football in the spring.

Recapping the 17 NFL Way to Play High School Award winners for the Fall 2020 season. 

NFL Legend Patrick Surtain Sr. is the 2020 High School Football America National Coach of the Year. Surtain led American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida to its third state championship in five years as the school’s head coach. The Patriots beat Rickards 24-6 in December to capture Florida’s 5A championship.
