2025 Preseason HSFA Florida Top 25 High School Football Rankings

IMG Academy holds the No. 1 spot in the 2025 Preseason High School Football America Florida Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The 2020 HSFA national champ will open the season on the road in Alabama against Hoover, ranked No. 88 in the HSFA 300. The Ascenders are also ranked No. 5 nationally to begin 2025.

No. 2 St. Thomas Aquinas faces a huge test this weekend, taking on five-time HSFA national champ Mater Dei from California. The Raiders are pursuing their seventh straight Florida state championship in 2025. Mater Dei, who enters the Broward County National Football Showcase ranked No. 1 in the nation, squares off against STA, which is ranked No. 10 in America.

Defending 7A champ Venice, No. 3 in the preseason rankings created with HSFA’s proprietary algorithm, kicks off its season with an in-state showdown against No. 22 Tampa Bay Tech. It’s one of two Top 25 head-to-head matchups this weekend:

  • No. 3 Venice vs. No. 22 Tampa Bay Tech
  • No. 13 Norland vs. No. 14 Lake Mary

Like IMG and St. Thomas Aquinas, No. 4 Chaminade-Madonna, No. 5 American Heritage (Plantation), No. 6 Miami Northwestern, No. 8 The First Academy, and No. 18 Manatee will also face opponents ranked in the HSFA national Top 300 this weekend.
