2025 Preseason HSFA Georgia Top 25 High School Football Rankings

Reigning 6A champ Grayson starts 2024 at the top of the High School Football America Georgia Top 25 high school football rankings. The Rams open their title defense against No. 7 Collins Hill, the only team to beat them last year.

In 2024, these two teams battled twice. Collins Hill took the season opener 20-19, but in the playoffs, the Rams got their revenge with a decisive 38-14 victory.

In the HSFA national rankings, Grayson comes in at No. 4.

All eyes will be on No. 2 Buford on Friday, as it opens its brand-new $62 million stadium against No. 3 Milton, winners of the 7A and 5A titles over the last two seasons. In last year’s season opener, Milton edged the Wolves 13-10.

No. 4 Rabun Gap-Nacoochee is ranked No. 32 nationally. The Eagles will face four HSFA 300 teams during their first five games.

No. 5 Douglas County, a 6A state semifinalist last year, opens against No. 6 North Gwinnett in the Corky Kell + Dave Snyder Classic at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons.

Lee County starts at No. 8. Last year, the Trojans’ only loss was in the state semifinals to Milton.

2024 5A runner-up Langston Hughes opens at No. 9. The Panthers should start 2-0, setting up a September 5 showdown with Douglas County. Last year, Douglas County beat Hughes 21-14.

Rounding out the Top 10 is Carrollton. The Trojans, who finished as 6A runners-up in 2024, will be looking to replace three-year starter Julian “JuJu” Lewis. Media reports from the opening of camp indicate that head coach Joey King could employ a two-quarterback system, at least to start the season.
