College Student-Athletes Compete in Largest-Ever Women's Flag Football Finals

The Atlanta Falcons hosted hundreds of flag football athletes on May 18-20 for the NAIA and NJCAA collegiate women's finals at Mercedes Benz Stadium. 

With 10 teams competing, Ottawa (Kansas) took home its third consectuive NAIA title over Thomas University. In the NCJAA tournament, Florida Gateway College triumphed in a three-team field. The 2023 tournament field was the largest ever.

The NAIA first sponsored women's flag football as a varsity sport in 2021 thanks to a partnership between the NAIA, NFL, and RCX. And the NJCAA announced women's flag football as an emerging sport in 2021.

The event also included a high school showcase for the third year in a row. Nearly 200 high school flag football athletes showed their skills in front of NAIA and NJCAA coaches and supporters. Athletes were welcomed by opening speeches from Falcons players and attending flag football coaches extended over 40 scholarship offers.
