Denver Broncos Unveil Wall Celebrating High School Tackle and Flag Football

Before last Saturday’s preseason game at Empower Field at Mile High, the Denver Broncos unveiled their new and improved high school football wall, celebrating tackle, flag, and unified football programs across Colorado.

The display features a Riddell Axiom helmet representing each Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) member school that sponsors football, alongside a flag for every CHSAA school with a flag football team.

Owner & Denver Broncos Foundation Board Chair Carrie Walton Penner and Team President Damani Leech attended the unveiling ceremony. The 35-yard-long wall, prominently visible from all five levels of the stadium, serves as a tribute to high school football in the state.

“We want to make sure that anyone who wants to play football, can play football,” said Carrie Walton Penner. “We want it to be very inclusive so that whoever wants to play, can play, and that school districts, regardless of size and size of program, are able do that. It’s amazing to be able to support programs across the state."

In 2024, Colorado became the 11th state to officially sanction girls’ flag football as a high school championship sport.
