HSFA Top 100: For Third Straight Week, High-Profile Upsets Define the HSFA Top 100

For the third straight week, four top 25 teams lost — causing a big shake-up in the Week 4 High School Football America Top 100, powered by NFL Play Football.

No. 8 St. Joseph’s Prep’s (Pennsylvania) lost at home to Milton (Georgia). The three-time defending Pennsylvania 6A champs dropped to No. 49 this week, and Milton climbed to No. 47 after a 3-1 start.

St. Francis (California) scored with sixteen seconds to go in the game and handed No. 18 De La Salle (California) its first loss against a northern California opponent in 30 years. The 318-game streak began after the Spartans lost their final game in 1991 to Pittsburg in the North Coast Section championship game. De La Salle dropped to No. 63, and St. Francis entered the Top 100 at No. 61, the highest ranking ever for the Lancers.

North Shore (Texas), winner of two of the last three state championships in the biggest classification in Texas, lost to Westfield (Texas) 28-21. North Shore tumbled from No. 13 to No. 74, while Westfield soared from No. 172 to No. 72.

No. 23 Pickerington Central (Ohio) lost in overtime to unranked arch-rival Pickerington North (Ohio) 13-10. The Tigers fell to No. 91 this week.

The Gorman/Hamilton game is one of eleven head-to-head HSFA Top 100 matchups coming up this weekend.
