Interview: St. John Bosco’s Jason Negro Talks about Chiefs CB Trent McDuffie

Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie continues to improve, according to his high school coach, Jason Negro of St. John Bosco in Bellflower, California. McDuffie transferred to the Southern California high school before his senior season in 2018.

Coach Negro believes the thing that has separated McDuffie from others, no matter the level, is the mental aspect of his game.

During his final high school football season, McDuffie and his teammates finished No. 3 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. He was second on the team with three interceptions to go along with 19 solo tackles.

Below, High School Football America’s Jeff Fisher talks with Coach Negro about McDuffie’s growth from Bosco to the University of Washington to the Chiefs.
