L.A. Rams Honor Long Beach Poly’s Stephen Barbee as High School Coach of the Week
When it comes to high school football, fans across the nation know about Long Beach Poly.
Since the 1920s, the Jackrabbits have produced 60 NFL players, including current players such as JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marcedes Lewis and NFL Legends like DeSean Jackson, Jurell Casey, and Willie McGinest.

Long Beach Poly has over 800 wins and 20 CIF Southern Section championships. In 2018, Stephen Barbee took over the program from former NFL linebacker Antonio Pierce, who guided the program to a 35-11 record over a four-year period.
After back-to-back eight wins seasons in 2018 and 2019, Barbee took the Jackrabbits to the CIF-SS Division 4 championship game in 2021 and a perfect 10-0 regular season in 2022. Last year, the Rams honored Barbee as the team's finalist for the prestigious Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Award.
The Jackrabbits are off to a 6-1 start this year and ranked No. 51 in the High School Football America 100, powered by NFL Play Football. As a result of the great start, the Rams have named Barbee their High School Coach of the Week.
