NFL Legend Bam Harrison Named Cowboys High School Coach of the Week
Brandon “Bam” Harrison is back in familiar territory.
The former San Diego Chargers' 1995 draft pick is in his first year as head coach at his alma mater Kimball High School in Dallas, Texas.
Harrison, an All-State wide receiver during his playing days at Kimball, currently has the Knights on a two-game winning streak after losing their first three games of the 2022 season. His performance led to him being named the Dallas Cowboys High School Coach of the Week.
Over the last 15-years, Harrison has been working his way through the high school coaching ranks. He started as an offensive coordinator in Southern California before returning to Texas. There, he became an assistant at the powerful DeSoto High School football program. He served as DeSoto’s interim head coach in 2018.

Shortly after being hired at Kimball, Harrison told the Dallas Examiner how excited he was to return home.
"This is where I grew up and this is where I developed my character and my integrity," Harrison said. "To come back here and be able to help and guide young Black men and young Black women in the right direction is important and means so much to me."
Harrison was taken by the San Diego Chargers in the sixth round of the 1995 NFL Draft. The former wide receiver and kick and punt return specialist played two years with the Chargers and another with the Philadelphia Eagles.
