Texas Leads High School Football America’s Elite 1100

148 Texas high school football teams are in the 2025 Preseason High School Football America Elite 1100. The Elite 1100 is the precursor to the HSFA 300 that will be released on Friday. All of HSFA’s preseason rankings are created with their proprietary algorithm that they’ve been using since 2013.

Following the Lone Star State is Florida, which placed 134 teams in the Elite 1100. California placed the third most with 117 teams vying for a spot in the HSFA 300 preseason rankings.

Southern California’s Mater Dei will be trying to become the first team in High School Football America to win three straight HSFA national championships under the HSFA algorithm. The 2022 and 2023 national champs are currently riding a 19-game win streak.

Mater Dei also won back-to-back HSFA national crowns in 2017 and 2018, but fell short in their three-peat attempt in 2019 to arch-rival St. John Bosco. The Monarchs have won five national titles since 2017. St. John Bosco has won two — 2019 and 2022.

Only Florida’s IMG Academy has been able to break the Trinity League‘s stranglehold on the national crown. The Ascenders were crowned national champs in 2020.

Allen is the only Texas team to win a national title. The Eagles won three straight crowns from 2012 through 2014 under Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray.
